Kazual (pronounced “casual”) performed in the Moskovitz Theater, located on the fourth floor of the DeNaples Center on September 14 at 8:30 p.m.

Kazual is an a cappella group from Atlanta, Georgia. The group is made up of three brothers, DMac, Lil Gabe, and Playboi, and one cousin, EJae. Kazual rose to fame after competing on season three of “America’s Got Talent.” The group made it to the quarterfinals of the show before being eliminated.

Since then, Kazual has been busy performing at colleges, clubs, fairs and festivals throughout the country. The group has opened for Beyoncé, Nelly and Randy Houser. Kazual has also performed on “The Maury Povich Show’s Next Big Superstars of Tomorrow,” BET and MTV. In addition, they have won various awards, including a Georgia Music Award for Best R&B group and “Campus Activities Magazine’s” Best Music Performers of 2015.

Kazual’s performance at The University of Scranton was organized by USPB. Students who attended the event were able to enjoy a variety of songs that were broken down “Kazual style.” The group started off the night by performing songs from a variety of genres, including Usher’s “U Got it Bad,” Hunter Hayes’ “Wanted,” Mario’s “Let Me Love You,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and a boyband medley that featured songs from One Direction, NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys.

Halfway through the performance, Kazual called everyone with a September birthday up to the stage. The group then serenaded the September babies with a “Kazual version” of “Happy Birthday.”

Kazual closed its performance by performing some original songs, including its latest single, “Bounce.”

After the performance, fans had the opportunity to take pictures with the members of Kazual.
