University of Scranton Marks One Year Since Start of Online Learning

SCRANTON – Today marks one year since the start of the University of Scranton’s 2020 spring break, when students who had planned on departing the Hill Section for beach trips or much-needed breaks got more than they bargained for – and certainly more than they saw coming.

A year ago today, the United States reported 556 new COVID-19 cases, and the national death toll had reached seven. As The Aquinas reports, the University and the world continue to battle the coronavirus pandemic that has now caused well over half a million deaths in the U.S.
