Book Review: Under The Tuscan Sun

By Isabella Barberio | Staff Writer

Under the Tuscan Sun tells the story of the beautiful Francis and how she learns to find love in Italy. This beautifully written story shares emotions of heartbreak, hope, and gratitude.

After her divorce, Francis moves to a villa in Tuscany, Bramasole. With the help of three Polish men, she transforms an outdated house that is falling apart into her dream villa with a beautiful garden.

Throughout the book, Francis learns to take chances. She starts by saying yes to a trip to Italy from her best friend Patti. She then buys a villa in another country and later decides to renovate. While renovating she becomes accustomed to Italian lifestyle and is meets new people.

Each person is a significant part of Francis’ life in Italy, teaching her different lessons and providing advice about life.

She spends her time in Italy traveling, cooking, writing, and meeting a beautiful Italian man who shows her how to appreciate the little things in life.

While reading this book, I was transported to the beautiful Tuscan countryside filled with rolling hills and olive trees. It was a delightful and light read and is the perfect book if you are looking for a beach read this summer!
