Scranton men’s soccer retooled offense behind a mix of newcomers and returners has propelled them off to a hot start.

The Royals are 3-1-1 starting almost matching the win total last year of four. The reason for this is the revamped offensive attack.

Transfer student Ciaran Corr has had an instant impact leading the Royals in goals this season and knocking in two game winning goals this season. His scoring ability has unlocked a new gear for the Royals attack this year.

First year Logan Campbell has shined on the defensive end alongside the returners Logan Cattie and Brendan King. Aidan Hartey in goal has recorded three shutouts in his three games played.

Head Coach Matt Pivirotto has liked how his team has blended this year with the new players coming in and how it has translated to the pitch.

“The newcomers have mixed well with our returners. They transitioned into the team smoothly. Our leaders and returning players made it a priority to be open and welcoming to the new players. Building these relationships early makes the newcomers feel comfortable and as a result allows them to concentrate on their on the field performance,” Pivirotto said.

Scranton men’s soccer returns to Weiss Field Wednesday for a cross town rivalry versus Marywood University.
